FILMER: A short doc

A collaborative film project between filmmaker and artist , Filmer highlights the artist behind the camera and the artist in front of the camera to reflect and represent the power of two artistic imaginations. Filmmakers and all other artists of any discipline working in South Fulton County may apply.

One of our most impactful and exciting programs, Filmer, is a collaborative film project that brings to life the untapped creative energy of filmmakers by pairing them with artists from the South Fulton Region.

Each year, we commission and Executive Produce up to 8 films that showcase collaborations between filmmakers and artists from South Fulton County. These films have a life beyond production, providing artists with a powerful asset to highlight their work and filmmakers with a unique piece that can elevate their careers.

In 2024 we've held true to our guiding philosophy: Filmer represents the strong working collaboration between the artist in front of the camera and the artist-filmmaker behind it. The goal is for each to develop a product that truly encapsulates their artistry, and to deliver a film that is not just a documentary but is an art piece unto itself.

Filmmakers also have the option to submit their films to festivals around the world, further expanding their reach and impact. Some of our films that have reached national and international festivals include City of Kings by WJR Films, featuring Antar Fierce; Becoming Her and Stitch by Timberhouse Films; and more.
