FCAC's Support Shines at Filmer Premiere

South Fulton Arts, with generous support from the Fulton County Arts Council, successfully hosted its highly anticipated Filmer Premiere in January 2023. This exciting event took place over two days at The Plaza Theatre in Atlanta, GA, on January 26th, and at the Union City Gathering Place in South Fulton County on January 27th. The premiere featured seven unique Filmer projects, showcasing a diverse array of artists and filmmakers dedicated to bringing compelling stories to the South Fulton community and fostering a deeper connection with the arts.

The Filmer Premiere was designed to highlight the creativity and talent within the South Fulton community. Each of the seven Filmer projects presented unique narratives that reflected the rich cultural tapestry of the area. This initiative not only provided a platform for local artists to shine but also aimed to engage the community with thought-provoking and inspiring content.

“The assistance provided by FCAC is instrumental in overcoming challenges such as reaching communities that lack exposure to the arts. Their support enables South Fulton Arts to enhance its promotional strategies and outreach efforts, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for future events. By leveraging the resources from the FCAC, South Fulton Arts is better equipped to connect with the community, increase awareness, and drive higher attendance. The support from the Fulton County Arts Council was pivotal in making the Filmer Premiere a reality. The FCAC assists the Fulton County Commission in developing public policy on public support for the arts industry, recommending funding for the arts, and overseeing the implementation of programs that address the diverse cultural needs of Fulton County's citizens. Their partnership and catalytic role in developing new arts opportunities have ensured broad access to the arts across Fulton County’s municipalities and unincorporated areas.

FCAC's commitment to supporting, developing, and implementing arts and culture programming is evident through their funding of contract arts organizations. South Fulton Arts’ Filmer Premiere, supported by the Fulton County Arts Council, was a significant step in fostering a deeper connection with the arts within the South Fulton community. The event showcased the incredible talent and creativity of local artists and filmmakers. With continued support from the FCAC, South Fulton Arts is poised to build on this experience, enhancing and ensuring future events are even more successful and impactful.
