Michael Finke
Michael Finke is an award-winning New York based musical theatre writer. He’s written the book, music, and lyrics for full-length musicals such as Reporting Live, Caroline and George, Surrounded By the Water, and Powerline Road as well as the song cycle Other People’s Relationships and the musical shorts Dead Flowers and Constitutional the Musical. He’s had songs, concerts, workshops, readings, and full productions of his work performed at Lincoln Center, Signature Theatre, the York Theatre Company, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Feinstein’s/54 Below, Joe’s Pub, the Christmas Day telecast on ABC, and many more. Recently Dead Flowers became available for licensing with MTI (being performed across the United States and Mexico in both English and Spanish), his upcoming debut album “Get What You Want” will be premiering in Fall 2022 released by Broadway Records, and he was recently commissioned to write the Broadway bound musical 161st Street – A New York Musical based on the life of Yankee legend Ray Negron. Michael has developed his work with regional theatre companies across the country in Kansas City, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, and more. He is a winner of the New Voices Project with New Musicals Inc. and Walt Disney Imagineering and is also a proud member of ASCAP and the Dramatists Guild.
