About Trey Carlisle

EMCEE P.O.E.T.R.E.Y connects people and communities across backgrounds and generations through storytelling, song, rhythm, and rhyme. A spoken word artist, singer-songwriter, mindfulness coach, and conflict mediator, Trey Carlisle or EMCEE P.O.E.T.R.E.Y shares inspirational stories that inspire, educate, and connect communities in ways that celebrate our shared humanity and planet. P.O.E.T.R.E.Y PRODUCTIONS is his music and media publishing wing. His works and shows bring mindfulness and peace-building principles to life with the power of music. The result are powerful educational experiences that inspires participants to envision and create world where everyone belongs.

Outside of P.O.E.T.R.E.Y PRODUCTIONS, Trey is the Programs Manager for Music in Common, a nonprofit that strengthens, empowers, and connects communities through the universal language of music. He is also a member of Soul Food Cypher, which utilizes freestyle rap and lyricism to transform individuals and communities, and a 2022 Garrison Institute Fellow.
