About Tarik Dennie

Hi, I am a documentary filmmaker from Atlanta, Ga with over 10 years of experience capturing powerful stories with prominent individuals and organizations in Atlanta and around the world. My commitment to storytelling spans my entire life and represents my life purpose. As a student at Clark Atlanta University, I discovered the magical impactful that cameras and film can have on others. I have witnessed the film community evolve within Atlanta as one driven by a desire to make a difference with my work. Over the past 11 years, I have learned so much not only about filmmaking, but about people and I feel so blessed to be able to meet and work with so many amazing people and tell their stories through film. I now hold 11 years of experience working with esteemed clients such as the University of Chicago, Columbia University, Toyota, Zillow, and more who have provided the opportunity for me to tell their stories using film as my primary medium. From telling the story of Atlanta's WCLK radio station while in college, to being invited to film Vice President Kamala Harris in the White House, to Interviewing formal incarcerated mothers in Nairobi, Kenya to documenting the ancient textile practices of the Quechua people in Peru, my filmmaking journey has been humbling and inspiring. These opportunities have left an indelible mark on my professional career by exposing me to a wealth of knowledge and life experiences focused on people who come from different backgrounds and cultures.

Filmmaking is a collaborative process and there is magic in the art of talented people coming together and pouring themselves into a project. My heart still flutters, and I still get utterly giddy at the prospect of finding a new and unique story to tell through film.
